Popular brew Corona Light was sponsoring a Cancun Spring Break Giveaway with local bar and partner, Park Street Cantina. To increase its Columbus following and drive traffic to Park Street Cantina—ultimately leading to more sales of Corona Light—social media management and activation was necessary to access existing and new audiences and promote the giveaway.
EMS generated a social media strategy to manage and promote the Cancun Spring Break Giveaway. To effectively market the giveaway, EMS activated online social accounts and designed creative content for social media channels, then utilized the Park Street Cantina website for creating awareness at targeted event nights like College Night Wednesdays. Focused on the theme of the vacation getaway, contest followers were also encouraged to post their favorite vacation spot photos online using the custom branded contest hashtag #cancunwithcoronalight and tag the @coronacolumbus account. Throughout the four-week giveaway period, active participants who inquired about contest details were given Park Street Cantina gift cards. One spring break Cancun vacation package was awarded at the end of the contest.
